Soon as the 2005,s come out I am buying one. I was thinking of a Extended cab Z71 (just like my current 1998). But I am considering a K2500 instead of a K1500. Anyone that has any reasons why I should not do this please speak up. My 1998 Z71 k1500 is in very good condition and has 88,000 miles on it. Should I trade it in or try to sell it myself?

Go with a 2500 with a 6.0L!!! What would you mainly use the truck for? I would probably try to sell it myself, because dealerships have a tendency to stick it to us!

It will be for light duty, personal use. I have a 1979 C20 454 w/ utility bed that I use for heavy hauling
I was trying to find out if the 3/4 & 1 ton's are more dependable than the 1/2 ton's. I know the rear suspension and axle are better. I am scared to get a 1500 because of all the post on this forum. It suggest that people r having all kinds of problems w/ these fragile 1/2 ton's. And why r the 1500HD more expensive than the 2500?

They build the 1500 ext. cabs here in the city I live in, in Canada (about 5 min away from me). I worked in the plant fot a couple summers, it's an amazing site to see all those nice shinny Silverados rolling off the line. What is new for the 05's? I heard they have sunroofs, but is there any HP increases or anything?

The 2005 1500's do not have rear disc brakes.
For more info on changes (mostly for the worse) on the '05 half ton, go to the address below and click "New For 2005":

Why would they delete the airbag on/off switch on regular and ext cabs? That makes about as much sense as a football bat...GM logic strikes again. It's times like this I'm glad I don't work for a Chevrolet dealer anymore.

The Hybrid is rated 17/19MPG by the gov. No way in hell its worth it, I can get behind a big rig and do 80mph at 22mpg with my 5.3, and run about 19mpg when I'm not drafting. You would probably have more of an improvement, especially on the highway, by spending the price difference of the hybrid over the non-hybrid on headers and pipes! I like my 2004 just fine, but I'm sure the '04s are starting to disappear off dealer lots, so you'd best start shopping!

Well after I went to four Chevy dealers and one ford . I can't find a truck I want for under $42,000 (thats my limit). I hate to say it, but it's because of this forum I am scared to invest in a new GM. And I just can't see myself in a ford (don't matter how reliable) and Dodge is on the list, right below AMC pacer.

You might want to look at the new Silverado VHOs. They are basically an extended cab, 1/2 ton silverado with a 6.0L. Basically an SS without the all wheel drive, which as we all know hurts the stock SS times. People are getting nice numbers out of the VHOs.

they put a sensor or something in the seat so that if the person sitting there weighs less then 80 lbs or so it will not deploy

Yea, thanks! I wont be around for a while due to computer problems. I hope you all can survive without my advice for week or so..lol. Oh and a one ton is a bit too much for me. I,m not hauling MHA-1 tanks. But thanks for the offer.
