Distributor Rotor!!???

My 92 lude is kinda misfiring and making a loud kinda noise from the engine. I brought it to a shop and they said it was the distributor. Then somebody on here told me to change the rotor and cap first because theirs did the same thing and it just needed a new cap and rotor. So i cleaned the spark plug wire connectors off and stuff, and now i can't get the screw that holds the rotor out cuz it's stripped so taht sux. Could the loud noise be a messed up rotor? Cuz it looks pretty old and nasty. I've got a new one sitting right here but i can't get that damn screw out...

there is a thread on here, a couple of weeks ago, with the same screw. searce "distributor" and see if you can find it.
