The car cranks but does not start. I've been reading in this forum and I'm thinking it's the ignition module. I unscrewed the 4 bolts of the cover, flipped over and didn't see any sparks from the plugs while cranking the engine. Is there a way to actually test the module or the crank sensor to pint point the source of my problem.

Thanks for any help.

On our 1994 Pontiac Grand Am, we did have similar issue but only two out of four ignition coil was firing. Traced the problem to a faulty Ignition Coil Housing. Quad engines that uses Direct Ignition Systems (no ignition wires), has a Ignition Coil Housing high rate of failure.

I think the book mentions to measure resistance for the Ignition Module (engine off).
You can test the crank sensor for resistance (engine off) and test for AC voltage for the crank sensor (engine started).

My bet would be the ignition coil housing, but don't forget to check the fuses and the wires for the ignition module and the wires for the crank sensor. If the wire of the crank sensor is scraped and grounding to the bare metal then there would be no signal to the ignition module and so no sparks.
