base 1g distributer upgrades???

I have a base 92 1.8L eclipse and the distributer and coil are all the same, i dont guess there is another year model with a distributer that would fit my car??? I just want a normal distributer and coil system if it is at all possible. I just want to use like an MSD coil or somthing, is there maybe a cap that would bolt on to my distributer that would allow me to use an external coil and just unplug the one in the distributer itself???? I am having misfire problems and i just dont like the stock setup, and its expesive to replace if there is a problem with it, can i get more fire for cheap?

i havent seen a high voltage replacement for a 1.8 but the stock distributor system isnt that bad i can sell you a stock one for $25 plus shipping
