Hi,
I have a 95 Aurora. Yesterday it developed an intermittent squeak, a big squeak, not plastic on plastic but metal on metal. It sound like it is coming from the right front. It is noticeable when accelerating lightly to the right and sometimes when going over small bumps in the road when a passenger is in the passenger seat.
Any ideas? My 92 Bonneville SSEI had a similar squeak that I could never find.
Ron

My experience has been that the squeak is from the big rubber bushing that isolates the strut from the strut tower. I recommend spraying some SILICON-BASED lubricant in and around the bushing. You can access it quite easily by opening the hood and looking down on the top of the shock tower. USE ONLY SILICON BASED LUBRICANT or put another way DO NOT USE PETROLEUM BASED. SILICON BASED ONLY!!!
Give this a try. I'll be interested if it works. It has always worked for me.

my aurora has that same problem, and if this works, all of you will be getting hugs from me.

So far, no good. The squeek is still there. I'll try soaking it again tonight with Solicone spray and let you know what happens.

same here, I used silicone paste on the rubber up top and nothing.

Mine has two squeaks in that area. One is coming from the strut tower. But that is a very faint squeak and the silicone fixes that. But there's also another bushing that goes through the subframe. That is where it is squeaking. I had mine fixed at the dealer. I forget what that cost.

Well, at least on my Aurora, the squeek was fro mthe right front control arm bushing. It became unbonded and the control ar was rubbing onto the frame.Well, at least on my Aurora, the squeak was from the right front control arm bushing.
