Some problems with 86 Grand Am w/3.0 v6

I'm having some troubles with my winter beater...it has a VERY bad idle and is extremely gutless. Another thing is that the exhaust manifolds get red hot after idling for around 10 min, if that. I need to get this thing fixed ASAP, as it is my winter beater and the Mustang just doesn't cut it in the snow :)

You may want to have your catalytic converter checked, my guess is that it is clogged causing the rough idle the no guts as well as the hot manifold...
