Diverter Valves

I've heard of diverter valves and BOV's for i while. I know what a BOV is and i know that diverter valves bring the air back into the intake but pre-turbo. My questions is why aren't DV's more common than BOV's, they seem to be better. and where can I get a good one, does anyone manufacture them, i don't have a specific model in mind, just looking around.

One of the better ones you can find is the stock diverter valve from a 1st gen DSM. They are easy to modify to take over 25 PSI of boost. You can get them for about forty or fifty bucks.

The correct name for all these valves are compressor bypass valve. Almost all new turbocars are fitted with one, they are almost always recirculating the air to before the turbocharger.

The 25mm Bosch valves fitted in several cars have a great response but don't like that high pressures and temperatures. Should be installed after the intercooler, preferbly near the throttle.
Mitsubishi has a valve that is a bit larger, 35 mm I belive, also great response. Can be found on later Lancer Evolutions.

Most blow off valves you can buy aren't much to have, they have often poor response. Blow off valves should never be used on an engine with an airmass meter, it's impossible to get that to work properly.

DV's ARE more common than BOV's. It's just that a lot of people use the incorrect nomenclature...
