Fuel tank sending unit

Does anyone know if a 1973 Mustang Fuel pick up and sending unit will work on a 1973 Cougar? They look the same in the picture but without being able to measure the resistance I don't know if there is some reason why Ford maight have changed something between the 2. I can find new units for Mustangs all over the internet but nothing is specifically listed for the Cougar. Thanks
