Stratus 99

I just bought a dodge stratus 99, it got the v6 and the auto stick transmission, I spoke to a guy and he told me those transmisions last a good time is it depending on the use? or the way they are designed or he just didn't know?
I barely know about cars, but I will like to learn...
is there air intakes for this car?
