rodeo smells like gas

To anyone who might be able to help.
Irecently bought a 2000 rodeo ls 2wd. and it has started to smell like gas
badly. Even after it sits overnight. also my cel just came on a couple of days ago. Thanks for any help.

If it's coming from the fuel filler door area, check for a bad gas cap. The cap seal could be shot, or the cap's internal check valve is stuck open, allowing vapors to continuously escape. You will get an EVAP system code "low system purge press" -IIRC.
