Okay, this thread is just a thread for those of us that are poor. Here lets post mods that you can do to your car for very little if any money that boost performance. Some examples of these are the airbox resonator removal, homemade iceman, ect........ So thats it. Pics would be appreciated.

hell. u can always be a lil pollution freak and take your catylctic converter.... and break all the glass outta it... gives ya some HP. but pollutes pretty bad.. but o well. ha

Turn up the boost to jsut before fule cut. And get a test pipe off of ebay instead of ruining a perfictally good cat.

This really depends on the make and model.
With an older carbureted car, there is MUCH more you can do, but you really do need to have a good working knowledge of the systems involved. Also some of these suggestions will defeat emissions controls, (not so good)
1. Many carb cars from the 70's and 80's use manifold vaccuum when cold and ported vacuum when warm, for cleaner emissions.
Problem is, only ported vacuum produces power and often the thermal switch gets stuck. I just switch some vacuum line so it gets ported vacuum all the time.
2. Sometimes older air cleaner housings have a single, restrictive snorkel. With a bit of imaginitive metal work, you can make a secong snorkel and use two plastic dryer/home appliance air ducts, and run them to the front of the car to get cold air.
3. Often the ignition timing specifications from the factory are too conservative. One can sneak in about 2 or 3 degrees more static advance, for a bit more power. Just be careful for detonation.
4. Pull and plug the vaccuum line from the EGR valve. This will make the EGR closed all the time, and its good for a tiny bit more power at higher rpm.
5. Sometimes, for older american cars you can get a kit with lighter springs for faster ignition advance in the distributor.
6. If you have one of those 'thermactor' type air pumps for emission controls, remove the drive belt or remove the whole unit and use a shorter belt for the remaining accessories.

power steering is for old ladies. so is air conditioning so take those out and get a shorter belt to drive them.
take out everything from your interior and trunk. loud music wont make you go any faster so this includes any system. hell even take out your stock radio. also take out carpeting, headliners, anything plastic or fabric, rear seat, passenger seat, etc
run a straight pipe from the headers back.
take off your air filter, you might not get dirt and stuff sucked in.
get a sawzall and go to town on your A B and C pillars and take your roof off.
take out your windows cause glass is really heavy

You don't need tires either! The only thing they do is add weight, use a jet engine and wings and you'll be going mach 3....
