i currently have in my possession a 305ci from a 77 chevy Nova, i was wondering if it was worth building up or jsut saving up for a 350 crate engine. I will be receving a 1988 305 tbi camaro in feb-mar time frame. I know this is a foolish questions but id figured id ask any how.
Also is there any chance to put a new interior into and III Gen, im talking a Gen IV. I want the comfort of a new car and the look of a classic

Definately save up and go for the 350. The aftermarket for the 350 is endless compared to the 305.

would it be in my best interest to go for a lt1 or ls1, i dont need that kind of power, but it seems the way everyone is telling everyone else to go

Well you can get that much power out of a traditional smallblock if you get the right combo of parts. LS1 swap would be expensive. You can use the LT1 intake on an older block though but I like TPI over the LT1 because it has lots of lowend power.

the LS1 is the best small block chevy has made to date. thats why its replaced everything else. If you can afford it, i would do it. www.fbodymotorsports.com sells a kit to do this in a 3rd gen. the fourth Gen interior bits can fit, i know for a fact that the seats will bolt in, but i dont know about the dash or the rest. probly not trim peices.

Depends what your using it for i mean if its for the strip i would use a 454 with a set of hooker headers and a LSA cam but for everyday use i would get a normal or rebuilt 350.
