Engine noise 1997 Riv?

I have a noise under hood that comes from the air intake hose between Intake and Filter. It never did it in warm weather and it only does it for 90 seconds or so. The shop foreman at a local dealer said this is common and their wasn't a fix for it. Can someone help?
