I'm new to this site and boy do I have a ton of questions. Recently came across a 1995 540i 6 speed standard with 91,000 miles in fair condition. Does anybody out there know if this is a good purchase for $8k? or what problems would I be in for if purchased this vehicle??

Well the KBB value on a 95' 540i is about $11,000 for a private party sale of a car rated "fair." Good condition is about $12,000. If I were you, I'd do a vehicle history check, and bring it into a shop to check it out before you buy. Otherwise it sounds like a good deal.
