clutch & flywheel.
Actually, i belive you can use your stock flywheel as long as you have an 88 clutch. It will work, only the clutch wont cover the whole flywheel, i.e. clutch is too small, but it shouldn't cause any problems.
As long as you stick with HF/STD or DX/LX/EX/Si, you wont even have to change axles or hubs, and even then, you can use your old stuff.

I used an accord clutch disc on my stock si flywheel & pressure plate, works fine. I just got one that had the same specs as my stock disc, cept I got it with 21 splines instead of 20.

If i were you i would buy a whole clutch kit for an 88, but you can use it with your 89 flywheel

ok, but my 89 pressure plate will work????
the reason i ask is because i have a new pressure plate for my 89 and the flywheel has been done recently in the summer. when i got the tranny tonight the guy gave me a clutch disc in good condition as well as a flywheel and pressure plate all off an 88... the flywheel and pressure plate are glazed tho and he told me to just sand it and it will be fine. i dont wanna do that if i can get away with using my 89 plate

put the 88 clutch up to the 89 pressure plate and if it looks like it lines up, then it will work. I was assuming you didnt have any of the parts.

well i was just thinking.... it the 88 disc is smaller... it should work with the 89 plate which is bigger.... since it will work with the 89 flywheel too

if the 88 plate is smaller than the 89, you can't use it - it'll slip like a bitch. I still say just do what I did - use your 89 flywheel and clutch, go to a parts store, lookup your 89 dx/lx or whatever spec clutch disc, then check the specs on it - thinkness, diameter, then look in the accord section for the same spec disc, but with 21 splines - it's easy - I've been running on mine for over 2 years. Then you don't have to run on a smaller flywheel and stuff.

I'd call around and see if any place has them in stock. Cause if you put that 88 stuff in, you'll burn the clutch up with that zc - I did it with my si.

88 and 89 clutchs should both be 200mm. the 90-91s are 212mm, so using a 88 clutch on an 89 flywheel will work fine. unless its ever been replaced with a 90-91 flywheel.
