1992 lesabre blower problem

hi
i have a 1993 buick lesabre. lately the blower fan works and then does not. when i turn on the ac or heat or econo mode set the temp and the display shows the fan positions but the blower does not come on. then sudenly it will come on work for awhile then turn off then come back on again. any clues? thanks.
