figured out the problem

On my 1998, I was checking everything trying to find out why it wasn't starting. I don't mean to sound cockey but, I take very good care of my car., so I thought... It wouldn't start because of something to do with the shift lever. I think one of the sensors or something is either loose or something worn out? Someone with experience please let me know how to change parts, if needed to the Brake Transaxle Ignition Switch.
