overheating problems

i have an 86 honda crx dx 1.5l im hoping its not the head gasket, but i have major overheating problems, i flushed the coolant system, but the weird problem is the water burns up somewhere and i cant figure out where? the car runs great, sounds clean, but i dont know, anyone with any comments or answers, please help me out

head gasket, in it's early stages. i have gone through enough with my 83 civic to know. if it hasn't started already you will soon be running on 3 cylinders when you start it up and the 4th will kick in after about a 1/2 mile or so. then it will completely go and you will see nothing but white smoke. one way to tell for sure is to pull off your oil cap an have a look a the underside, if it looks grey and foamy you have water in your oil and it's your head gasket that's going.

i can also smell gas on the dip stick, but i'll check in the oil cap

oil looks great, no foamy stuff, feels like clean oil

gas on the dipstick would be piston rings...

im not really worried about that, im worried about this overheating problem, would there be anything else to check or beable to do, besides a headgasket?
