I pretty much have everything to do a mpfi swap, but my MPFI didnt come with a dashpot, advanced auto parts,o'reileys & autozone dont sell them & cant get one, theres not many junkyards around & definitly wouldn't have one,
I know their for the idle, when theres a cold start,
& it would probably make my idle go up & down untill it got warm,
but if I cant find one is it worth doing a MPFI swap without a dashpot?

Sure, the dashpot keeps the throttle open a crack during startup only. Just plug the vacuum port for now and press on with the swap, when you find one later on just slap it in. GL

the dashpot doesnt hold throttle open when its cold. Dashpot doesnt let the throttle slam shut when you let off the gas, supposedly making the engine *not* go pop pop pop when you let off the gas.

you do not need dashpot. theres not even a dedicated vacuum port for it.. the only line just goes to the intake. dont worry about it. you'll be fine.
