Oh yeah! I always thought I hated Trance, Techno, House, whatever, until I started hitting up clubs in NYC. Damn! These DJ's actually know what their doing behind the tables. Well, I've been hooked since.

:( That sucks KDog.
Even though we're so far away from the rest of the world, we get heaps of good internationals coming here, plus a very healthy local scene. Heaps of good clubs in Sydney.

Went out last night to Sounds (www.sounds.net.au), was a damn good way to finish off the weekend. Good crowd, some nice uplifting trance from Jumping Jack.

I really like Trance/Electronica. Some of my favorite artists are, DJ Shadow, Blu Sphere, Christopher Lawrence, ILS.
I want to start mixing my own songs now.

I used to listen to a lot of trance, but I've kinda been falling into the house persuasion lately. When I was in high school I went to a lot of raves and totally fell in love with the music, but as time went by I started to find it a little bit too hyperactive for my tastes. Maybe I'm just getting old... I went from there to more progressive type stuff, and slowly into house tracks. A little downtempo now and then is cool too. I enjoy pretty much all things electronica in appropriate moderation except some of the hardcore acid trance and happy hardcore stuff I've heard. All that 180 bpm madness around fruity vocals is just a little bit too much for me.

Pfft. If the bass is too hard, you are too weak.

Happy Hardcore rocks, and so does tribal house.
Grant, you and I can make a new mix, we can call it "AF Revitalized". And I will come down under if I can play with the kangaroo's.

I don't think it's a matter of weakness, just a matter of taste. I appreciate a good hard bassline as much as the next guy when I'm in the mood. I still like to pull out a few of my favorite old trance records every once in a while, and anything but deep, throbbing bass in those is pretty much pointless. It's mainly the speed and silly vocals that gets to me in a lot of the tracks I hear. I think it just makes it unlistenable after a while, and I couldn't even begin to dance to it.
To each their own...
