Ok I have been searching the internet for a while now and have not found what I'm looking for and would be forevever indebted if someone can help me. I have 2 gm vehicles an 01 Z71 5.3 and a 04 fwd envoy xl. I am looking for software and cables that will allow me to use my laptop to check and change the programs in my trucks. Does such a thing exist and if how do I get my hands on it? Thanks in advance

Yes, there are two programs. One is called HP Tuners. Here is a link to their site.

Both of these programs will work for your 5.3L, but I don't know what motor you have in the envoy. These programs work for all ls-based engines. They are somewhat difficult, so I would join a forum dedicated to tuning these engines.
