while i am driving my car it might cut off unexpectly. most of the time i can put it in neutral and it starts right backup, but, sometimes it wont start for a matter of mintues. i have put a new fuel pump and fuel filter on it and it continues to do the same thing over again.what else could it be, i ask because i am about to get a crankshaft snsor put on it but i was wondering if anyone else has these problems. other than that it runs very well.

One thing you might check, does your steering wheel feel loose? On my olds 88, the tilt was loose in the steering column becuase 4 bolts got loose, cuasing the ingition switch linkage to to actually turn the car off. During the life of the car I had to go in and tighten those bolts two times. It was a major pain.

If your check engine light is Not staying on all the time it's your fuel pump, the strainer in tank gets plugged up with Rust!! The tank has a fiberglass liner which causes rust to build up in the pumps strainer.

I'm not sure if you were able to figure out the problem or not, but, if not you may try the mass air flow sensor. My Olds is an 86 and was cutting off in turns and just about any place else. Each time I put it in neutral it would restart. We found out the Mass Air Flow was not giving out the right signals. Replaced it and no more problem.
