Head rest removal - 2001 Monte

Can anyone tell me how to remove the headrests on my 2001 Monte Carlo ? It's probably simple, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Just pull it up.

I tried that but it stops at the upper limit of it's travel. There must be some kind of release for it, but it's not obvious.

Where the headrest post comes out of the seat there is a plastic guide. On the side of these plastic guides you'll see a rectangular button. After you have fully extended the headrest, push on the button with a large screwdriver while pulling up on that side of the headrest and it will release the headrest shaft. Do the same for the other headrest post.
