My daughter's car has been intermittantly not starting when you turn the key. Sometimes by moving the shifter from park to nuetral it would turn over. But most of the time you turn the key and get all the lights but the starter doesn't turn. Then the ignition cylinder jammed up and I managed to get it out and I replaced it. Now the car will not turn over at all but I do hear a releay click once when you turn the key. I thought it might be the nuetral safety switch at first, but now I am leaning towards a starter relay or starter. I have been unable to locate the starter so I could try and use a screwdriver across the terminals to see if it will start.
Does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks in advance.

I got it started by holding the key in start and moving the gear shift from nuetral slowly towards drive. Then it starts. My problem is definately the nuetral safty switch, but I donot have a clue where it is located. Do you have to get to it from under the car or do you have to remove the gearshift console. I found the instructions on how to adjust it but if anyone who knows where it is will let me know it would be greatly appriciated.

hello, your nuetral safety switch is located on the left side of the transmisson. it is the square shaped box next to the shift linkage. you must remove the linkage to remove the switch.it is held by two screws. the switch is removed from under the car.
