Growling rumbling noise decel at 30-40 mph

I just bought a year 2000 Honda S2000 with 34,000 miles from a Honda dealer. I purchased a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty from Honda.
When I decelerate I have begun to notice a growling, rumbling sound from the transmission differential (?) at 30 to 40 miles an hour. It disappears when I disengage the clutch.
Is this normal--if not, what could be the problem and the fix. I'm assuming it's covered by the warranty (if the dealer says it's not covered by the warranty, I will pursue my rights!)
I would appreciate any advice I could get on this situation.
By the way, I love the car--it's a wonderful car to drive and I get lots of compliments about its looks from other people. I had a 93 Mazda Miata and the Miata seems like a toy car compared to the Honda S2000 (sorry if I offended any Miata owners out there.

I get exhuast resonance in my S2000 around those speeds when I keep it in gear and completely let off the gas. It is an odd sound, I have heard other people complain about this. Best way to get rid of it is change the exhuast system to an aftermarket.

I just purchased a 2000 Honda S2000 and noticed 2 things before I took the car and got it checked out. The engine was idling a little rough and it made a noise while decelerating in 2nd and 3rd. Sounded like noise was coming from tranny area. Mechanic said after compression test that Cylinders 1 2 and 4 and 225 pressure but 3 only had 150. He said that he would try adjusting the valves to see if that fixed the problem. He recommended that I also have a bearing and the synchros replaced in the tranny approx cost $1500 parts and labor. So if this noise is normal ( I read in 2 other forums that it is) then how can i lessen it. And the motor compression I am not sure what im going to do about it. I read also about something called a Honda TBS article about a technical service bullitin anyone eles hear about this? Maybe I should take the car to the dealer and get it checked out instead of my mechanic?
Thanks,
Chris

There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) about clutch noise on decel on (I believe) 2000 and 2001 models. A TSB does not mean a recall, so there's no free help if you are our of warranty.
Chris, IMO, adjusting the valves is unlikely to help on the compression test. If you're valves aren't fully seated during the compression stroke, you have either stretched a valve or the adjustment is WAAAYYYY too tight. My experience adjusting valves in the F20C is that they tend to be on the loose side (found on 6 of 6 cars in a local s2000 group tech day).
BTW, the best tech info you'll find is on s2ki.com in the "under the hood" forum.
