i am referring to the bands taht EVERYONE listens to and make the girls go "OMG SK8R'S R HOTT!!"
and people call them "punk" bands... when they're not

hmmmm...... There are some "BoyBands" that subscribe to the original stereotype that are still going.

Actually I wouldn't call switchfoot a group of posers. They've played the same type of music for a while now, and I personally like their sound.

Story Of The Year? are you fucked? they actually play good music that has meaning to it and is actually...well, good! they have talent, they aren't just a cookie cutter band.
AFI, i wouldn't group in there simply because OVERALL i'd say they're a good band. same with NFG.
Simple Plan, HELL YES. Good Charlotte, HELL YES. Yellowcard used to be good, but now, HELL YES.
Three Days Grace would be one i would include. Not By Choice. maybe even Sum 41 and Gob, although older Gob is pretty good.

Yes that Ryan kid pisses me off.
And what i heard the other day about story of the year, they are actually a band put together by a producer. I cant varrify that this is 100% true, but that is what i heard.
A band put together by some one such as that, is automatically considered a boy band.
I do like a few of their songs none the less, but their music is just the same as all the other pop punk bands out there.

they can scream, they have talent with their guitars, their drummer is amazing, they actually know how to write and put together a song.
does Good Charlotte or Simple Plan know how to do that? no. they whine and piss about how they're just a kid or about the rich and the famous.

Punk is Blood Brothers, Tsunami Bomb, Dead Kennedys, The Locusts, etc.

no. they actually have talent, know how to play their instruments, know how to WRITE a song, and have an amazing stage presence (i've seen 'em twice, i would know). they happen to be one of my favorites so yes i'm going to defend them to the death.
but i don't really see the point...i couldn't give a shit what a bunch of people on the other end of an internet cable thinks of my musical tastes. *shrugs* i like 'em and i don't give a shit if you don't, cause you probably like a whole lot of bands that i don't like.
