Well I have been to a bunch of shows and seen some of the worst quality carbon-fiber hoods recently. Is it me or does the resin clear coat over the actual dry carbon fade away? I saw an NSX with a cf wing and the clear layer was so bad that you could literaly pull the strands of carbon off the wing. so is there anyway of maintaining a carbon fiber body panel? can you wax a c-f hood same as you would a regular hood to protect the finish? is there any special product out there to help the finish last?

Musashi,
While I'm no expert in CF, I will tell you that I treat it the same way as paint and have had no problems.
But yes..you can wax CF!
I will search for special products for CF and post them if I find them!

Isn't there a layer of clear coat paint over the resin? Maybe the one you saw on the NSX just had the resin and noting protecting it?

The company I bought it from could not say for sure if there was a clear coat over resin, they bring it dirrectly from japan so I was just given the run around. so there is a product designed to protect cf stuff??? thats cool, if you guys find anything please post it up, thanks.
