Can someone help me with my homework!

Hey everyone, I have to do an essay on persuasion and My topic is california emision standards. I have to convince the cali gov or dmv to reduce the restrictions on car modifications. Can some one help me put up some strong arguments and state some facts. What should I include in the essay. I'm failing the class right no but if I ace the essay I can have a d for my next progress report. Thanks for helping me form my future and getting me on the right path.

I'm not asking anyone to write my paper, I'm just asking for some info or arguments to put together the essay.

I'd say something like "some modifications are done to prolong the life of the car but they conflict with the emissions standards. The emission standards are shortening the life of your car which is costing you time and money." I live in Mississippi with virtually no emission standards so I haven't really thought about it much. If you can choose another topic, and make it "The Things Women do to Persuade a Man" :p

here ya go: emissions restrictions reduce the power an engine can make, therefore it is necessary to increase the displacement of the said engine to increase the power. because of this, the car will now consume more gas and use more oil thereby further increasing the current oil prices.

Back to the thread topic, you can say that increasing emissions will ruin our heritage of classic cars that are still on the road, and it will make life for the average worker much harder, because they will not be able to afford all the emissions crap. Just a suggestion.

There aren't really any good arguments to use when discussing this topic. The bottom line is...clean air and a clean environment are more important than more horsepower and longer engine life.

No, they put out the same emissions as here in the United States. Though their laws are more stringent. There are no "tests" involved. They are simply required to replace their motors after a given amount of miles. Most of the motors you'll see online for sale are the ones pulled from the Japanese cars when "emissions time" came.

You could do something about how the money that is used to run the stringent emission controls could be put to better use in other departments and would allow a wider market for imported and domestic cars.
