First below is someone elses post I copied rather than explain the whole crazy mess myself.
anyone please,
the other day when i pushed my lighter in it shorted out.since then i just get a buzzing somewhere down by the fuse panel, when i hit the horn,or my tailgait window open button.i`m also having the problem of ,when i open my door my stereo shuts off,and having saved the best(worst) for last my dome light no longer works, and if i have the wheel in the dome light on position, everything i mentioned above happens at the same time.I`ve tried my best to find somewhere there may be a short (i`m thinking a ground somewhere) although i`m definitly not much of a mechanic.does anyone have any kind of suggestion, this is driving me crazy........................thanks SVTAG
I have the exact same problem well did. replaced the blown fuses and was fine until other day. I thought it was just the lighter that was at fault blowing the fuses making the truck lose it's freaking electrical mind. It was the the combination of having my door open interior light on and pushing in the lighter. Now though it's not the horn making a crazy buzzer sound which sad but funny turns on dome light while making like it's an apartment buzzer...lol Now it is making regular annoying buzzer when interior dial is on. This time putting new fuse in gauges pops right away. It was ok if I didn't open door to trigger my demon doom light on. Am I wrong to assume that my dome light has married my lighter and now grabbed gauges. Also this time it has drained my battery I believe. Was fine til was left sitting more than 5 hours or so without starting.. Please help me..I read another post describing the interior light dial being on and the buzzer going off so this has got to be pretty common by design and if it is a wire somewhere there's someone somewhere must know exactly where the problem originates. Please help with a fix which I obviously didn't last time only treated the symptom. Just want to say love this forum. Non mechnical hubby and I actually replaced the starter ourselves with helpful posts. Thank you to person who posted about backing out mount bolt to get room to get the darn thing out without jacking up motor at all :grinno:
