Tranny upshifts hard

I just bought a 97 Sierra 4x4 5.0 Automatic.
When the trans warms up it upshifts really
hard into 2nd. Slams, actually. Scared the hell
out of me. What's the deal? Thanks

common valve body guide wear causing the computer to tell the trans. to act nuts and
an engine code P1870. Hopefully a bore/sleeve kit
will be all it needs.

WRONG!! tranny needed rebuild & Torque converter.
I just bought it so I didn't have to pay. Lucky!
