Good. Hopefully, this will show that you can't do stupid shit like that. Its unfortunate that he has to go to prison for that long, but he deserves it.

You need to set an example. I dont' feel any pity, because my school made an example of me and I ended up repeating this year and getting seperated from my class of eleven years because of a mistake I made.

Not to mention "a forfeiture of pay, a dishonorable discharge and a reduction in rank to private."
Deserves it.
Deserves it.

its sad thing, but a just thing. We already have a bad image in the rest of the world for the war in iraq, lets atleast try and look more civilized than saddam.

The man deserves it.
"Sivits told a court-martial he saw Frederick punching an inmate so hard that everyone present feared the man was having a heart attack."
"I knew it was wrong at the time because I knew it was a form of abuse."
There are no mitigating circumstances. Even if the reservists responsible for prisoners were not trained in proper handling of detainees, common sense and common decency should tell them that what happened at Abu Grahib was a disgrace to a decent nation.
We will never know how many arabs decided to take up arms against America as a result of seeing these abuses of their fellow moslems, but one thing is for certain - the ugly mob that was put in charge of these detainees did absolutely nothing for peace or justice.8 years is a cheap price to pay,I'd sooner see them handed over to a war crimes tribuneral.

He's the highest-ranking, therefore the most responsible, especially when it's soldiers under his direct supervision that's being charged.
That's the way it is in the military, believe it or not.
