Intermittent Hesitation

2003 Elantra
5-speed manual
The problem I am having is sometimes when I push the accelerator to take off, usually after going into 2nd gear, the eng will lose all power & and act like it is going to quit but then will get the power back & run normally. This usually last for 2-3 seconds. I can not recreate the problem, it happens intermittently after the car is just restarted, warm & cold start situations. Probably only happened 10-15 times in the last year.
Any ideas?

Dear friend.
it is possible you don't let the motor run up into the actual gear before you change gear.
pedal, if it is, it is Normal in a manual transmition Car.
there must be a good coordination with the run in RPM of the motor and the load you give it.
Remember it is not Authomatic !!!!!!.
I know what I tell you, cause here in Uruguay 98 % of the cars are Manual.

I have a 99 Elantra that was doing the same thing, turns out one of the sparkplug wires had a crack in it and it was grounding out. Had to get new coils. hope it helps.
