does any one know when its supposed to come out?

Just so that I know when to prepare for an emotional breakdown when they stop making ps2 games... and my parents wont let me get a newer system

I don't see anything on the Playstation web site about a PS3 (although I have heard various rumors about it).

i've heard about late 2005 same with xbox 2, but that was a rumor 2 years ago.now 2006-2007 seems more realistic, but who knows, these two consoles top game sequals have been delayed for 1.5 years, some even 2-3 years so maybe they will do the same with the systems

Okay here is what it says in the GameInformer mag about the release of Xbox2 and PS3. "Xbox2 is fully expected to release before the end of 2005 and be out several months(if not years) ahead of the release of Sony's Playstation 3" From what most of us know the first system that is released from the three companies is usually the weakest. It says here that the Xbox 2 will not focus on technical prowess and mostly on releasing the best games. so the release date and power of the PS3 are still not confirmed. If anyone is interested in Nintendo I read somewhere about the Xbox2 and the PS3 releasing and they said something about a Nintendo Revolution. no clue what it is supposed to be.

Also I forgot to mention that if you plan on getting either one of these systems you better be saving up more than what the normal price is($300) These systems are going to be much like game-only computers and may actually be priced around $600-800.

yeah, I highly doubt a 600$ price tag.

They wont sell very much at that price... they have to keep in touch with reality.

Thats just what I heard the price would be because they are much like heavily modded computers. But the price should be lower unless they plan on still releasing the older PS2 and Xbox games for a while longer.

He's right in a sense! The more faster and complicated these machines become, the more they'll cost. I say around the $400 mark myself.

i think 600-800 would be way to much. if it were that much most gamers wouldn't buy it, or wouldn't have enough cash.
