Get everything that will make air in and exhaust out faster/easier.
Or just flat out sell your GS and get a GS-T/GSX turbo

I know it sucks to hear it but you probly should sell it for a turbo if u want it to race. You could always get a turbo kit for it or gets some N2O. For preformance talk about a non turbo gen 2 check out 2gnt.com.

if you cant sell get all the bolt ons... ebay a intake (dont pay 250 on a aem when a 30 dollar ebay intake will do the same thing) get a header, hi flow cat, cat back exhaust. a udp (underdive pulley) is good for a few horses too. then you can adjustable cam gears but your need a dyno to tune on or some way the tune and gauge what your getting. theres alot more bolt ons that you can get overtime.. intake manifolds to fuel rails to even bolting up a turbo to the thing...

only problem is with every bolton you can get if you dont go turbo.. your wtill gonna get beat buy almost any gst/x.

kooo..so can some estimate how much horse power i would get if i got headers, intake, exhaust, ecu,t series turbonetics turbocharger, and intercoolers, i went to turbonetics website and it said that kind of turbo can give me 550 to 950 hp..thats alot..well for all you car people..hope this isnt a hard qestion. i just want my eclipse to have at least 400-500 hp..doesnt matter how much i have to spend..thanks

Its a little more complicated than that just to get 400-500 hp. The price depends on what your gonna buy (turbo), and from where (company), and also condition (new/used). I just want to say that its gonna take alot of work and effort, and by the looks of it, it doesnt sound like your gonna be doing any of the work, so you got to pay someone to install it for you too. My suggestion is to read up, alot, and then reconsider what your goal is.

Good Luck!

I'll give a shot at answering your question here..... If you did all the bolt on stuff that you mentioned minus the turbo you might get another 30hp if everything flows right. You would be lucky to get that much but it is not out of the possibilty range here. Let's talk turbo.......after you did all that stuff to your car your gonna have to change 50% of it when you go turbo (exhaust manifold, intake etc etc...) The 420a engine (what you have) can take about 10psi of max boost on the stock internals safely (or that's what recomended by the pro's here on AF) If you do that your gonna see around 200-220hp you won't need a turbonetics turbo...a plain jane T-25 or a 14b will do more than that 420a can take without internal modifaction. You can turbo your car for about 1,500 if you hack and install some of the stuff yourself. If you want anywhere over 220-240hp on your car...get ready to spend some money.

Cheers,
Ben

P.S Check out the thread at the top of the page for all your turbo'ing a RS/GS questions!!! Here it is...http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=200222

if you don't care how much it costs, then why not buy a car with turbo already? Get a GSX or an Mr2 Turbo, i wouldn't waste money on a gs when a guy with a gst who bought the car for 6k and spent 500 on it can smoke you.

Just go with the hahn kit, if you buy up to stage IV or V i dont rember what it goes up to. I think that gives you around 400hp. But it will cost probly >$7,000

First off: Here's a link the a non-Turbo 2g eclipse tunning guide from DSMTuners http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guide/2gnt/

this tuning guide would give you a list of motor upgrades to force induction options, this guide will give you an idea of what you need once you know what you need look for the parts on ebay before you go shopping anywhere else (ebay will save you money)

Second of all: Research each part your're going to buy and find out what is there for and its role (give you an idea of what your're putting in there and why)

And last but not least: stick around these forums for a awhile read read read the posts lots of info, I'm a newbie myself and I learn something new almost everyday from these forums and the people here

I would hate to be the one to say this but your engine probably won't handle 500hp. Your car has the 420a engine which is just plain weak. I grew attached to mine, but it is weak. The gsx and gst have an engine with a very good platform for modding, the 4g63. I'm got a gs too and I'm just taking it day by day saving to make my car a faster. Also consider yourself lucky, you got a car for your birthday, mine was three weeks ago and all I got was this stupid card(without a check:mad:).

Hmmm, I've been smoked by a RS-T once before once in the san fernando valley, and goddamn, that thing just took OFF. I'm running the T-2small at 15psi, but I asked the guy how much he invensted in it, and he said hes putting out in the low 300's to the crank but had to invest well over 4K to even get there. He told me he would rather had my car to work with, since it takes so much work to just get a turbo in and working in an N/A. If you want 400-500HP at the crank with an n/a  ....I hope you have deep pockets and a lot of patients. Dont rush it too much tho, and good luck!

i think the moral of these stories/comments are that if you are aiming at 400-500 hp, getting a gst/gsx would be a better idea.

Good Luck!

I have the right car to work on, but I dont have any $$.... smaller goals are less depressing and dont take as long, and when you achieve them, it really is a great feeling either way. Plans/goals are always good, but there will always be some improvisation along the way. I think right now, you should set your goals on smaller levels, like 200hp, then 225, then 250, and work your way up :2cents: .

Putting out 500hp in any front wheel drive car would be a night mare to drive.
and he said hes putting out in the low 300's to the crank but had to invest well over 4K to even get there.
I should be putting out about the same amount of power. But it cost me less then that. I think i have like $2,000-$3,000 in performance parts. But if you count the engine rebuild then it gets close to $4,000.

I wish i had the 4g63, expectly in a awd platform. But i couldent aford it, That and when i bought the car i diddent know you couldent swap the 420a for the 4g63, I learned that the day after i bought it.
