gas tank size?

how many gallons of gas can the tank hold on a 88 mustang LX. I heard around 15? but my tank was on Dead E today and when i filled it up it went to 13? So if it is 15 my gas gauge is kinda off and I dont have to worry so much when i get in the red.

When my gas light went on at a little above the E, I usually had about 2 gallons left. So that sounds alright to me. I believe its like 15.3 full capacity.

stang racer20 is right, i just replaced the fuel pump and tank and it was a 15.3 gallon tank..
