Non performance tranny swap, need advice.

I have a 2000 HX (D16Y5 VTEC-E) with a manual transmission. It's my daily beater, with no performance mods, but it looks good and drives well. The car has been good to me, however it will need a new transmission soon. (it has developed play in the input shat) My qustion is this: Can I use an EX tranny in place of my HX? The only difference I currently know of between the transmissions are gear ratios. So I think the swap might work, however I am worried about whether there are compatability issues I haven't found yet. Will I have gauge, e.c.u., shifting, or any fitment problems? Anyone out there have an idea?

Shouldn't have any problems at all, it will bolt right up. I don't see why you'd have to change out anything other than just the tranny.
