Water leaking from dashboard on 92 Wrangler

I've noticed a puddle of water on my passenger side floorboard for a couple of months. Always thought it was coming from the vent but while driving the other day and taking a hard left turn I noticed water leaking out from behind my dashboard right above the glovebox. Anyone had a similar problem if so what was the fix? Need someplace to start troubleshooting the problem.

You could try checking your windshield seal, maybe some silicone could work if the seal is not pressed tightly against the frame.Ive had this same problem on a couple of jeeps.hope this helps.

Had an '02, did the same thing but on the driver's side. It's either a leak from the weather seal as Merk said, or it could be that the AC condensation hose is plugged or draining into the vehicle. Mine was plugged with mud on the bottom :) so that's worth a check.

had same problem in 94 wrangler, then goin down freeway hood came up, spiderwebbed the windshield. had it replaced, with new windshiled in place no leak, so look at the seal for windshield at bottom.

Jake, try checking the drain tube for the vent on the cowl of the jeep. It might be plugged! It should be under the hood on the firewall. It's usually a black rubber tube, kinda like a bike inner tube. I had a similar problem with mine and wound up fraggin my cd player after water leaked into it. I take my jeep in the mud occasionally and this is where I suspect the blockage occurred. Try sticking a hose up it or just squeezing the debris out! Hope this helps you out!!

I had the leak on the passenger floor and used clear silicone on the rubber seal that runs below the windshield on the outside -not the one the goes around the windshield the one below that -Stopped the leak-when I get the money l'm gonna repalce the seal as its dried out.
I assume it s good to coat all rubber seals once in a while to keep them from drying out! Ive been coating my new cars seals with armor all hope this keeps im plyable.
On my 91 almost every rubber seal is brittle

I've got water leaking from a small tube that comes from the passenger side on the firewall. I have A/C, but it leaks water regardless of A/C operation. Leaks quite a bit sometimes. Definitely not coolant or lubricant.
Anyone else have this?
Thanks,

Heater cores are notorious for leaking water/coolant on the floor of a vehicle when they go bad. You can usually smell a sweet fragrance from the coolant. Thats a dead giveaway. Most vehicles its a pain and very expensive to to replace because there under/behind the dash which has to usually all come out. But I suspect a jeep might not be as bad. one way to find out is bypass the heater core (a mini radiator for your heater) theres two hoses one going in and one going out. Disconect both and loop them together. If no more leak you found the problem. Some times the hoses go bad too or maybe its a plastic core or where the hoses connect is plastic as was the case in one instance for me. And it cracked. Repair or replace the damaged part and reconnect the hoses the same way they came off.

I checked my drain for the fresh air cowl intake and it was not clogged, I have no AC in the jeep so I don't believe its the AC drain. Now when it rains or snows I am getting serious water behind the dash, I know this because I have witnessed it leaking out from behind there when I make a right or left hand turn. Now I am experiencing grounds and shorts from the water being back there along with the maintenance required light coming on spuriously. I have also started noticing the amperage gauge starting to drop down to around 9 volts when taking of from a dead stop with lights dimming and engine almost dying. Am taking of the cowl this weekend to inspect the ducting I believe the leak is most likely coming form there. Will let you know what I find.........
