is it possible to remove the crank from a 91 2.2 while the engine is still in the car?? do i gotta remove transaxle BS?? its a manual. if so are their any shortcuts or do i just start tearing everything apart?? i got everything taken apart but the only thing holding me back looks like the flywheel. any help would be appreciated

You 2 eh. My 91 2.2 engine siesed on me the other day, but then again i was driving with a busted connecting rod/crankshaft.

Now im left having to put in a used engine this weekend:(

As for your situation im not sure, but i think you can pull out the crank while still in there.

Not sure though :2cents:

Yes. Remove the flywheel, and yank that puppy.

yes?? yes to what? it can be removed without the transmission coming off or the trans does have to come off?? i am pretty sure the only way to get the flywheel off is to remove the trans and undo a bolt??

Yes it will come out. I will see if I can scan you some photos/mechanical drawings of how it is done. As I recall you can get flywheel seperated from the torque converter without removing the tranny. You can then get a wrench in there to get the flywheel off.
