What does everyone recomend for a programer or chip. I'm looking at a Jet stage 2 and running glass packs in a 99 5.3 liter with 180 therm. What kind of gains would I see, and what do all of these chips and programers do to fuel economy?

Different gains for each tune, usually more power, and a few mpg.

I see you finally got your Nelson Tune. What do you think so far?

IT rules! I'm still waiting for it to break in and give me even better power gains and more mileage :)

You might also consider a superchips max powertuner. I had one on my 99 and it works at all throttle positions. I had more power with the tuner and with my ac on than before with my ac off. My 99 extended cab could sit at the stop sign and roast both back tires with the 5.3 so you be the judge. My mpg also increased by .5 in town but didn't really change on the highway. The truck was much more responsive to throttle input and the tranny didn't have to unlock the tc or hunt gears on inclines like before. Like with all things your mileage may vary and not everything works for everyone. As a matter of fact I still have that tuner sitting in drawer in the garage just waiting to be installed into someones truck.

I, too, love my Nelson tune! He replaced my pcm with an 02 and he had to tune for everything, from my cam to my stall. Allen is the man!!!
