Z34 Oil Leak

If everyone is telling you to look for the oil pump driveshaft which is located under the throttle body on the engine block you may want to look other places as well. I had a bad oil leak for as long as I owned the car. I finally found the leak. Its underneath the plenum fuel injectors and lower intake. Its a small plate about 2 inches wide and maybe 10 inches long. It covers the top of the engine block. If you car is somewhat clean you can see it on both sides if you look down under the throttle body and on the other side past the power steering pump. I could never find the gasket in the parts store but I made one from gasket material. It took about half an hour and a whole lot of measuring for the holes and grooves to cut out but it stopped the oil leak. The whole process took me about 6 hours of labor. Pay attention to how things come off and especially watch how the fuel injectors come off and the harness that attatches to them. Good luck.

My 97 Monte has the same problem in the same place. Thanks to Mole826 for the money saved in labor fees on this money pit. (But I still love the car anyway)

That gasket came in my top end kit when I did the head gaskets. Yes mine was leaking too. And around the infamous "o ring"

Your local Autozone or Murray's should have them. It's an intake manifold gasket kit, with upper and lower IMG's.
