Water puddle inside car

Hello...Yesterday was raining really hard here in the Bay area... In the afternoon when I got in my car there was a puddle of water on the passenger side front floor... The water is coming from under the dash... Help...What can cause this in addition the the heavy rain???? Thank you....1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT.....

I have a 98GT that did the same thing. Water in passenger side, radio speaker wires shorted out and water dripping from over head console. Buddy with a 2001GTP has the same problem. I'm thinking a possible windshield leak. Dealership offered no answer either. They say they never heard of such a problem. Let me know if you find anything.

Check the cowling betwen the windshield and hood. There have been many complaints where it has come unsealed.

Many cars have a heater part right there that might leak water, you should check that out as well.

Only other problem which is well documented in various other posts is the a/c condensate drain in the passenger side firewall plugs with debris so it can't drain to the outside. But sounds like your problem is probably weather-related (unless you've seen this before after running the a/c for an extended period).

Stlwagon is right. It's the AC drain.

Why do you want to get to seal? Had the same trouble with mine. It's the drain.

It's a weather related problem, not an A/C drain problem.
He said it happened during a heavy rain, the exact thing
happened to me and a friend.

As said, same thing happened to me. ONLY when it rains. AC has to deal with all the water. When it tries to dry the air it over flows, into the passenger side of the car.
But I have been wrong before. But it is easier to clean out the drain then to reseal window.

I think I get what your trying to say. Let me get this right. Water normally goes into the cowling (where the windshield meets the hood) and drains through the a/c drain. In this case the a/c drain is plugged up and is draining into the passenger floorboard. That would make
sense.

There are about 10 threads on this site, with this same trouble. I thought it was a joke till it happened to me. Thought I would have to get a pump to get the water out. Big-L sent me an email, I went out and did cleaned the drain and it never came back. If I can find thread, I will send.

My girl had the same thing with here Impala there was leaves blocking a drain passage on the passenger side under the cowl I think or in the fender cant remember which

Drain is on the firewall.
