is this a worthwhile mod? i'm done doing performance mods till winter is over, but i keep hearing a thunk from my driveline when i drive hard and a few other circumstances. like downshifting.

whats the best source for one of these?

Might try ford racing?
They are lighter so less centrifurgal force needed to rotate it. the engine can respond a tiny bit faster(kinda like a lightweight flywheel right?) plus they will rob alittle less hp from the engine.
They are stronger
I would pry buy one just b/c i am building a base for my car dont wanna buy things twice but it all depends mate.
they are only 180 dollers also so they not to expensive.

That's not the aluminium driveshafts fault, that is cause you never corrected your pinion angle from the lowering of the vehicle.

Yes there will be a slight improvement on hp. Worth while mod but it wouldnt be my first.

Not only is the D/S stronger and lighter, it will greatly reduce driveline vibration sometime associated with gear swaps. I have one and would deff recomend it.

that's my next mod then... maybe that'll take away the annoying 'bump' that now happens when my shift kit does its job. and if that doesn't fix it, my rear axle rebuild in the spring will.

Could you describe this "bump" sound a little more.... If it is what I think it is then an aluminium driveshaft won't fix the sound. I'm not sure how you set-up your Trans-Go cause they are a few options but I know mine can hit hard as a mother fucker and make a bump/clunk type of noise it's nothing the aluminium driveshaft will fix it's a control arm thing.

But a FMS alumnium driveshaft is worth the money if you have it. Stronger and less rotating mass help reduce vibration.

i don't care if the driveshaft doesn't fix it, eventually the whole drivetrain will be refreshed so it'll get solved somewhere in teh mix... or break and force me to fix it

I have the FRPP alum driveshaft. It's pretty nice. They're expensive now though, the price went up in July. Shop around before you buy it. They're about 270 or so from Summit. I saw in 5.0 Mustang mag, one of the internet warehouses had them for about 229. So you could save a few bucks by shopping around. If you have a Griggs Torque Arm, the Ford d/s won't fit. You could just have your stock d/s re-balanced if it's vibrating and your short on funds
