Fuel Gauge

I have a 99 S10 5 speed manual with about 10100 miles and the fuel gauge will go to full when it has about 1/4 tank in it. I dont want to pull the tank down if I dont have to, does anyone have any ideas on a quick fix??

I have a 97 S10 5 speed manuel too with 56700 mile and i have the same problem, the gauge basicly does whatever it want to. I was on empty for a while and the gauge said i had a half tank. when i did put gas in it it about 1/4 tank it would say i was full. i would shut the truck off to see if it would maybe work right but it would go down to 1/4 and instantly go right back to full. i read on this web site http://www.2carpros.com/makes/chevy/s10.htm that it might be the sending unit but you would have to pull the tank?? any ideas would be much appriciated thanks
