Hey Everybody-

I finished installing all the JDM stuff I got for my car; the amber turn signals, side markers, and power folding mirrors. Once agian it is raining in Seattle so the colors aren't vivid as I want but whatever.

Enjoy!

The mirror is moved all the way to the left. mmm... not quite far enough I guess I 'll have to sit on the right side.

Are the US P10 and the JDM P10 mirrors different in dimension in anyway? I know that since in Japan it is right hand driven that the left mirror would be showing further than the right mirror...The US P10 vise versa.....Couldn't you take the mirrors off the US P10 and put them on the JDM P10 mirrors?? or is it totally different?

Looking at them the are the same size and shape, but I guess they are at different angles. The flat and convex are switched so that makes it wierder. I was thinking about switching up the mirror out of the US and putting it in the JDM housing. That way I'll get the flat and convex mirrors on the correct side plus I get my heating function back. All that requires is time which I don't have so I'll just go with what I got now. I isn't that far off, but when I have time I want to make it better.

icic...I just noticed that it was kinda weird that it was convex on driver side...hehe

looks good.. but for the love of god, color match those mirrors! :D

[dumb questions] the mirrors fold automatically? is that used for parking on narrow streets in japan? USDM mirrors are heated? [/dumb questions]

Yep.. Japan gets folding mirrors ;)

Where did you get the mirror control? I need one!! I have R34 Skyline mirrors that are power folding. :D

I stoped by my parents house and showed what I did to my car and my Father is like;
"Are you going to get them painted?"
"I already did"
"mmm....well they didn't do a very good job."

You have to press the switch, it is not automatic although I guess you could wire it up that way.

USDM US Domestic Market??? never heard of that + it doesn't make sence

But to answer to your question, heated mirror are an option or probably standard on most G20s. Mine came with them and are linked to the rear defroster switch.

ooh, so that was intentional. i never would have guessed.

interesting. do you think you'll find much use for this feature?

it's alright. you seem to have gotten a little too caught up in the whole "wannabe jdm" thing. allow me to shed some light. USDM does stand for US Domestic Market, you are right on that one. basically USDM is anything built for sale in the US. so now you know.. and knowing is half the battle.

The part I don't understand is how something exported from Japan can be domestic.

JDM makes sence becasue it is stuff made in Japan for the Japanese market, hence it being a domestic market good.

USDM doesn't make sence to me because it is made in Japan for the US market, so how the US became part of Japan I don't know. I thought we won WWII.

Very nice, but I can't say I dig the red. At least it looks like the BTCC red mirrors though. Just an idea, but do you think it would be possible to force the mirror to skip track? I don't know if you'd want to try, but it could work......

My 2 cents:D

Hey TRBOBRK,

Nice looking G20. Did you have to drill holes for the side repeater lights? Someone said that there may already be a hole and wire harness. I'd like to know before I buy the lights. Thanks!

Yes I did, It sucked because It took forever. But when it was done it turned out okay. I really want to get the red 2.0 to go on top of it because when I look at it my brain says there is somthing missing. I guess I look at my Hyper Rev book to much.

Does anyone know where/who can get these for me???

That is what I'm going for except to kind of looks goofy since I don't have anything else on there yet.

Don't know. I'm kind of leary messing with the retracting part. I think when I put the US mirrors in the JDM housing I will put a wedge behind the mirror to angle it left.

My spot in the underground garage it fairly big but there is a huge concreate post on one side so I drive past my spot, back up part way, line it up using the right mirror then and retract the mirrors and back the rest of the way in. Sometimes I forget to put them out in the morning and I'll look over at the right one and I just lookin back at myself. Yeah it isn't necessary but the novelty of it hasn't worn off yet.

I guess I could do without the switch, or just make my own... I was thinking of wiring it to my alarm so that when I arm it, the mirrors fold, and vice versa..

Here's my R34 mirrors :D

It is halfway between a G20 and a Primera.

If I stoped here, I would agree. But I have bigger plans and I don't really want to paint the mirrors twice since I have no money.

I think it would be cool to hook it up to the alarm but then you can't control them when you want them to do something.

I would get the switch from Japan. I have seen too many Radio Shack push starts and other cheesy crap. Your car is better than that.

Sure you could... you can make your sunroof close with your alarm. Does that mean while you're driving you cant use the control switch to operate the sunroof? ;)

I assumed you were going to wire it up the alarm so you did have to get a switch. In that case you wouldn't be able to.

It's lookin pretty good. Retractable side mirrors is a sweet concept. I don't know about those amber corner lights, In my opinion, the US clear corners look way better. Other than that, its pretty cool :D
