Hi this is my first post.
I own a 1991 205 1.1L. I have been told by a friend of mine who is a mechanic that my engine has bad compression. I was wondering if there was any way to resolve this problem without having the engine rebuilt. I have heard of a few liquids that u can put in your oil that is ment to restore your compression but can't find anywhere in The UK that sells them. Any help wold be apreciated.

Halfords sell something called 10k Boost power restorer, it will de-coke you engine and clean valves etc this "might" help, costs £19.99, read the instructions carefully and dont breath it in cause it gives you the most violent head ache. I used it on my car and the difference was unbelievable.

No problem, if it dosnt work E-mail me or post here and I will try and offer some more advice. Also Slick50 do something similar but it is very harmfull to the enviroment and probably yourself.

I couldnt get the stuff you recomended but the guy in halfords gave me some other stuff which he said was very similar. I didnt work as well as i'd hoped. For some reason the car doesnt want to start when it rains. and i was told this was due to bad compression.

Sounds like the electrics are getting damp, try checking the distributer cap, spark plugs etc, make sure they are fitted correctly and tight. Will have to try this methodically unless anyone else knows whats wrong, start with the easy things first, then depending on how mechanicaly confident you are, move on to harder more complex jobs.

I have already done everything i could think of. new spark plugs, new leads, new air filter, oil change and i have checked all the electrics and they all seem fine.
