Clicking? Clunking?

Ok...might be a dumb question...haven't been in in a couple months, just bought a house and have been concentrating on that with not enough hours in the day...and now I am totally "mind farting" on all things automotive.
When I make a sharp turn to the right in my front end somewhere there is an odd clicking/clunking...any ideas? Please don't say a CV joint...sigh...can't afford that right now.
Thanks
Jason

yup. sounds like a cv-joint. its almost just as cheap to replace whole axle, and easier. not hard to do as well as not that expensive . i dont know how much cv-axles go for but i got mine , when i needed them for like , $70 a piece ,with return of old one.

For sure the CV. Had one do that not too long ago. Ended up breaking while I was driving down the road. Quite the scary experience while sliding off the road towards the trees! Fix it when you get the chance. Don't count on it "holding on for a while".

if the boots just broke then you should just be able to buy a boot with grease for $10 and it'll be like new. but you need the nut to get the axel nut off, some wrenches, a hammer, and pliers.

since it is already clicking/clunking, replacing just the boot will not help. it would only be covering up the problem and noise will consist. but yeah you can replace just the boot if you where to notice the problem a head of time.

Please don't say a CV joint...
check your strut bearing. Does it click more than once? it probly is your cv shaft.
