Whats with RSX owners

I have been guilty of this myself- (after test driving a 05 WRX), but whats with type-S owners almost always comparing the type S with other cars, even ones that are not in the S price range? Is it we like to be underdogs? Ridin that H badge to hell no matter what were against? I have been driving Honda for years, never owned a stock car, but fore some reason that 7900 redline makes me think I can take on anybody.. we are always in top ten list, but if you notice were usually towards the bottom as far as power is concerned. So why do we (me as well) think that the type-S is the ruler of the world? Sorry for the long post

We don't think we're rulers of the world. We ARE rules of the world :D
Spending a lot of time in ClubRSX's forum, I agree, we're always the under dogs. I've seen C5 Vs. RSX, Audi S4, 350Z, STi, EVO, Cobra and many other threads like that. I guess because most cars excel at one particular thing, whereas the RSX is a good all around car.....

You got a point... everybody else acts like Vtec is a supercharged turbo, so anytime someone beats one, even like you said in a C5 or something, they think they just cured cancer or something

I think, if anything, people are always dumping on Hondas and underestimating their potential. We're always on the defensive against the belligerent, uneducated, ignorant and prejudiced shitheels of the automotive community (ie, the American Muscle kid in the "unbeatable" V-6 Mustang.) Hondas may not rule the world, but I know they have unreal potential to be very fast, they are aesthetically pleasing, extremely well-built, intelligently engineered and reliable cars in all weather conditions. Thats more than I can say for alot of cars out there. The RSX may not be the fastest whip on the road, but it's nothing to laugh at.

The RSX is a pretty good car, but what got the automotive community against honda was the Civic. Everyone started buying up these cheap economically efficient cars and racing with them. They were never meant to go fast, just work right. But naturally honda came out with civic-r to appease the masses. But still to this day, I laugh at any civic ricer I see, and I have never been beaten by one in any car I drive. My moms Carrola-S even beats some civics. Not to mention, I personally have never met a civic owner who knew what the hell he was talking about, the last one I met I had to explain to him how a turbo would affect his cars performance, and why the headers he had put on did what they did.

Do some research on the Hasport Civic EX Type-S and the JR/Hasport Civic Si. Not all-out drag cars, but EXCEPTIONAL all around performers and plenty fast. Granted, they are modded out- but both are proof positive that Civics can be more than competetive. If you laugh at these Civics, you'll be doing it from behind. Sure some Civic owners are morons, but that can be said for any car in any price range.

Yeah, what he said. There are Civic owners who shouldn't allowed to own an RC car, but there are street Civic's that'll take down Enzos. And this isn't a Civic, but the Hasport/JRSC K20 GS-R raced on a road course in the Sport Compact Car lap challenge and out of 39 cars, it came in third after the 1000whp Signal R34 GT-R and Axis Wheels 360 Modena.

ok, maybe I should have defined "ricer" in the terms that my friends and I use. We define a ricer as any car that is made to look or sound fast, but isnt. I know there are some fast civics, but I have never seen one.

I had a 1980 Chevy Chevette with a rusted out muffler that was really f*cking loud. Does this count?
