turbo 2.8 vs turbo3.4 vs 350 swap

Should I turbo the 2.8? OR turbo a 3.4? OR swap in a 350?
I want about 300hp/300tq but that is just a rough estimate, not a mandatory goal. I want the most bang for the buck and don't want to spend 7k for a swap.
The only thing I hate about swapping the 350 is buyin Archie's 3250 kit and I would also have to buy a getrag 5 speed.

My Fiero won't be fuel injected, but if it was, I'd get a junkyard 3400 SFI, bolt on the Fiero heads, intake and EFI system, and then add a turbo or blower. The 3400 bottom end is the same as a 2.8, but has a slightly thicker block, better water & oil pumps, and a roller cam.

After reading some other posts about the issue on pennocks I have came to a conclusion finally. From what I understand the dennis and kfg turbo kits are okay at best. Many have had good results, some great others no so good, but the bottom line is in a world where people are achieving 1,000 hp cars and the norm is about 500hp why spend 3-4 grand for only 200hp turboin a 2.8 when I could easily spend the same and have that all motor, which then leaves me the option of even more power. A turbo fiero is a very awesome idea but not a boosted 2.8 or 6 cylinder for that matter unless it's the 4.3. So I will save up for a 1991-1994 corvette dohc v8. 375/375 out the box. The engine is fairly reasonable it's the damn archie kit that sucks on price. But I will save up for the kit. Right now I am looking at about a 3 to 6 grand swap. Depending on if I get the basic or master kit. I WILL have it in by next season.

Best of luck!! Some day I'd like to build a race track only 2M8 Pro Street car, complete with dual quads, 14:1 compression, and weiand 671 blower, guzzling super high octane race fuel and running 7 second quarter miles.
For my ragtop car I'm just going to settle for a 250hp six. I was thinking of a supercharger but like you said, the money is just wasted. C'mon, 2 grand for a 10psi air compressor? It's a good thing Sears doesn't use that kind of pricing or we'd all have to be rich to own air tools

Man I hate this whole engine selection thing. Now I am undecided once again.
