Ok... when i start my car i get a little white smoke... but it doesnt continue after that... if i sit for a min and step on the gas my car gives out a little smoke... now when the oil gets like 3000k miles on it, it doesnt do it... but when i change the oil and get the fresh oil in it, it starts to smoke again... and when i changed my spark plugs i noticed my intake manifold had oil lineing the sides... so could it be a vaulve guide seal...? it dont seam to be loseing compression whats the prob??

if it was your valve stem seals your car would smoke all the time, from start to finish and even more so when you stop at a light or something. the smoke when you turn it on in the mornings or late at night is ussually condensation, that absouletly normal and almost all our cars do it, as for the oil lining you have a leak or bad seal. no big deal though just gotta change it.

really it doesnt do it in the mornings... just when its hot out side or the car is hot... id like to beleive its condesation but sadly its not... its oil i can smell it... when i stop at a stop light it wont do it until i step on the gas, and it gives a puff out... and sometimes if i sit for a real long time it starts to smoke out without me giveing it gas...

well if its like that then yeah maybe your valve stem seals are going. although I still think if it was that then youd be smoking a heck of alot more but I'm not a mechanic. as for oil around the intake manifold......only thing that comes to mind might be the valve cover gasket. if it goes bad the pressure could push it up into the manifold, hell the heat alone could cause it to sweat out and condensate around the whole intake plenum.
Still dude I suggest a couple of proffesional opinions.

true... im thinking about geting my head rebuilt but then i think it would be to hard on my engine... because i have a 92 with 130K miles on it... and when you fix up something else it always tends to cause soemthing else to go wrong... but my bro sujested that i get them rebuilt and get a higher head gasket to release all the higher compression that rebuilding would creat...

hey,

i also have the same problem with my 92 3000gt. unfortunatly you are in the beginning stages of bad valve seals. it is not that expensive really, the seals (if you order them online) usually cost about $2.00 a piece and you can get them put in for about $500 (give or take). if you do not get it fixed soon you will experience major loss of power. i know this because i am in school and have no extra money to spend so i have been force to watch my baby (the car) go downhill because of the seals.

as far as getting the heads replaced....unless yours are warped, which i doubt, than i would not change them. just take them off and send them in to have them re-built....not machined (where they shave off some of the metal)......re-built. the re-build usually includes new valves and valve seals and this will solve your problem......trust me!!
