Ok this may sound weird asking this, but how are the universal joints on the driveshaft of a 91' silver w/manual tranny changed. Are they just pressed out, or is there another step involved. Thanks

I think the factory ones used injected plastic retainer ring for the caps. I used a torch to melt the ring and then pressed them out, you have to be carefull that grease inside the caps doesn't go flying everywhere when you heat with a torch

I talked to the shop that change my U-Joints on my 99' and it's actually an injected Fiberglass. Jeremy is right though, that is how you change them.

You can do it yourself in your shop vise. Do what Jeremy said with the plastic rings. If they've been changed before, pull the snap rings. Put a socket slightly bigger than the opening of the yoke on oneside and one slightly smaller than the cap on the other. Put the whole thing in the vise and press out. Use the vise to press the new ones in. Takes about 30 minutes.
